Walter M. MacDonald, Jr., age 91, of the Tonawandas, died Saturday, May 16, 2020, after a long illness. Born September 3, 1928 in North Tonawanda, he was son of the late Walter and Ursula (nee Burngasser) Macdonald, Sr. Mr. MacDonald was an amateur radio operator and had been a religious education teacher at the former St. Albert the Great Parish in North Tonawanda. A lifelong resident of the Tonawandas, he was a private pilot and well known radio technician who had operated Air Navco Service Company for many years before retiring.
He was the husband of Toni (nee Killian) MacDonald; father of Patricia Burger of Oceanside, California, Kathy (Keith) Franklin of Escondido, California, Walter (Jann) MacDonald, III of North Tonawanda, Donna Adas of Webster, and John (Deborah) MacDonald of New Hope, Pennsylvania; brother of Mary Kovacs, Thomas MacDonald and the late Michael and Dorothy MacDonald; also survived by 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services are being cared for privately at this time. A memorial service will be held at a time to be announced.
