Robert E. Grubb, Sr., age 89, of Tonawanda, died Monday, June 1, 2020 at Northgate Health Care Facility, after a long illness. Born April 11, 1931 in Buffalo, he was the son of the late William and Mary (nee Szollosy) Grubb and was an Army Veteran. Robert had been the purchasing manager for Kenmore Builder's Supply in Amherst before retiring. He was very active in Little League in Tonawanda with his sons.
He was the husband of the late Carol (nee Hoche) Grubb, who died August 4, 2010; father of Susan (Paul Marus) Rhodes of Wheatfield, Sandra (Stephen) Murphy of Wheatfield, Robert (Stephanie) Grubb, Jr. of Lenore, Idaho, and Russell (Tracy Rose) Grubb of Hollywood, Florida; grandfather of Timothy, Patrick, Brian, Stephen, Sean, and Megan; and brother of William (Jane) Grubb of Florida and Edward (Ann) Robertson of Kenmore. Also surviving are 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were cared for privately, followed by inurnment at Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to the Kidney Foundation of WNY, 4444 Bryant and Stratton Way, Williamsville, NY 14221, are preferred by the family.
