Richard F. Young, age 86, of Kenmore, died Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at his residence after a long illness. Born September 4, 1933 in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Clarence and Frances (nee Dailous) Young. Mr. Young was an Air Force and Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was employed at Niagara Mohawk/National Grid in the streetlight, cabling, and Huntley Plant for 46 years before retiring in 1994. Richard was a charter member of the Gastown Sportsmen's Club in Tonawanda, an avid fisherman, and a longtime summer resident of Camp Chautauqua. He was the loving husband of the late Mary (nee McLean) Young, who died January 23, 2016 and dear brother of the late Patricia Young.
Richard was the loving father of Christie (Michael Papaj) Abbott of Eden, Heather (Robert) Braun of Pendleton, and Richard (Joyce) Young, Jr. of Tonawanda; dear grandfather of Marc (Julie) Braun, Stephanie (Ryan Reid) Braun, Ian Braun, Brittany (Shelby) Daves, and Christopher (Jeanine) Clark. Also surviving are 7 great-grandchildren.
