Marilyn (nee Fleischmann) Vannatta, age 82, of Tonawanda, died Thursday, February 13, 2020 after a long illness. Born February 3, 1938 in Kenmore, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Frances (nee Yochum) Fleischmann. Marilyn had been employed at Citibank in Amherst before retiring. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Tonawanda. Marilyn was an avid reader, enjoyed going to MOG Gym with friends, and spending time with her family.
She was the wife of the late James Earl Vannatta, who died in 1974; mother of Kathy (Rich) Scullion of Xenia, Ohio, Chris (Dianna) Vannatta of Valrico, Florida, Gary Vannatta of Tonawanda, Amy Vannatta of Tonawanda, Jennifer (Dave) Luckritz of Reedville, Virginia, and Wendy (Russ) Loverme of North Tonawanda; grandmother of Valerie, Robert, Jessica, David, Rory, Emily, Samantha, Anthony, Adam, Kodi, Dominic, and Matteo; great-grandmother of Keira, Joseph, Claire, Rowan, Nathan, Emerson, Gavin, Cameron, Lucas, and Ella; and sister of Janice Frank and the late Edward and Eugene Fleischmann. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-6 PM on Sunday only at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Monday at St. Francis Chapel, 71 Adam Street, Tonawanda. Friends invited. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 73 Adam Street, Tonawanda, NY 14150, are preferred by the family.
