Jane (nee McSweeney) Mago, age 98, of Tonawanda, died Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at her residence. Born April 2, 1921 in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Genevieve (nee Norton) McSweeney. Jane was a 1939 graduate of Mt. St. Mary Academy in Kenmore and a graduate of D'Youville College, Class of 1943. She was a devoted member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, where she was currently serving as a Parish Trustee.
She was the wife of the late Captain Bernard Allen "Al" Mago, USN Retired, who died June 16, 1997; mother of Theresa (late Edwin) McClure of Woodbridge, Virginia, Philip (Pamela) Mago of Nashville, Tennessee, Jane (Robert Blau) Mago of Naples, Florida, William (Karen) Mago of St. Augustine, Florida, Bernard F. Mago of New Port Richey, Florida, Claire "Weegee" (Nick) Rosart of North Tonawanda, and Patrice (Kenneth Radliff) Mago of Albany, New York; and sister of the late James Norton McSweeney. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-5 PM on Sunday only at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 150 Broad Street at Clinton Park, Tonawanda; Msgr. Richard Wetter officiating. Friends invited. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemtery, Town of Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to the St. Francis Chapel Fund, 73 Adam Street, Tonawanda, NY 14150, are preferred by the family.
