Ronald J. McEldowney, age 83, of Tonawanda, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Born December 28, 1934 in Riddlesburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Harry and Zella (nee Rinard) McEldowney and was a resident of Tonawanda for the greater part of his life. Ronald was an Army Veteran of the Cold War and had been a supervisor at Dunlop Tire Co. in the Town of Tonawanda before retiring in 1997. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family and was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres.
He was the husband of the late Frances (nee Cingle) McEldowney, who died August 2, 2009; father of Cindy (William) Thiebolt of Tonawanda and Diana (Matthew) Collins of Madison, Ohio; grandfather of Jack Patrick Collins; and brother of Allan (Judy) McEldowney of Indiana, Pennsylvania and Carol (Larry) Clime of Manassas, Virginia. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
There is no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, April 28, at the Grove Street Christian Church, 85 Grove Street, Tonawanda; the Rev. James Girling officiating. Friends invited. Inurnment will be cared for privately at St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls.
