John M. Franasiak, age 86, of Cocoa Beach, Florida, formerly of Tonawanda, died Tuesday, September 10, 2019, after a long illness. John was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, where he was a member of the Military Police. He worked as a foreman at Spaulding Fibre in Tonawanda before retiring.
He was the husband of the late Shirley (nee Stahlman) Franasiak; father of John (Shari) Franasiak of Cocoa Beach, Florida, Rick Franasiak of Jacksonville, Florida, and Joy (Gary) Segal of Kenmore, New York; grandfather of David (Ashley) Segal, Christina (Micah) Weber, Jason (Birdiee) Smith, Jena (Mark) Pierce, Jenny John, Lou Ann Franasiak, Laurie (Matt Pile) Franasiak, Karly Franasiak, and Kayla Franasiak; and great-grandfather of Olivia, Morrigan, Arwen, Austin, Hailey, Tyler, Aaliyah, Heaven, Hannah, Destiny, Devin, Jasmine, and Camden. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
There is no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Saturday, November 2, at St. Francis Chapel, 71 Adam Street, Tonawanda. Friends invited.
