Gloria (nee Holton) Burns, age 89, of the Town of Tonawanda, died Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a long illness. Born August 26, 1930 in Batavia, New York, she was the daughter of the late Elwyn and Mildred (nee Case) Holton and had been a resident of the Tonawandas for the greater part of her life. She was an active member of Tonawanda Church of Christ and had been employed at Burlington Coat Factory before retiring.
She was the wife of the late Robert Burns, who died in 1989, and dear companion of the late Carl French, who died in 2014; mother of Dana (late Elaine) Langworthy of North Tonawanda, Kyle (Frank) Rouse of Delevan, Daryl (Maritess) Langworthy of Cary, North Carolina, Kim (late Mark) Glichowski of Tonawanda, Lisa (Mark) Brunetta of West Seneca, and Terry (Sally) Burns of Amherst; and sister of Dorothy Crane of Cincinnati, Ohio, and the late Betty Holton, Richard Holton, Robert Holton, and Vivian Panzarella. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, a great, great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Friday only at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday at the Tonawanda Church of Christ, Delaware and Summit Streets, Tonawanda; the Rev. Trey Moulton officiating. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to the Kidney Foundation, 4444 Bryant and Stratton Way, Williamsville, NY 14221, are preferred by the family.
