E. Daniel Bors, Jr., age 71, of Long Beach, California, formerly of Tonawanda, died Thursday, March 22, 2018. Born September 11, 1946, he was the son of the late Helen (nee Kovacs) and Elmer D. Bors, Sr.. Dan graduated form Tonawanda High School in 1964 and attended Cornell University. He then moved to the New York City area where he worked as an engineer. It was there that he met his wife of 47 years, Kathleen J. Brunda. Dan worked during the day and attended the New Jersey Institute of Technology at night. He graduated with a degree in chemical engineering about the time that their first son was born. His next career move was to Fisher Controls in Marshalltown, Iowa. Dan earned his MBA from Drake University and taught marketing at Marshalltown Community College. He was presented with the opportunity to purchase an advertising agency in the Chicago area and accepted the challenge to own and manage the Howard H. Monk & Associates Advertising Agency for several years.

Desiring a warmer climate, Dan made one final move to California. While working for Revere Transducers he held the position of VP of Sales and Marketing world wide. At this time, Dan realized that he always wanted to be a lawyer. So, while traveling internationally for his job, he attended Case Western Reserve University College of Law, made Law Review and graduated with his law degree. Dan had his own law firm, specializing in family law until his health failed. He struggled with heart disease and complication from diabetes, leading to his death. Dan loved learning, formal education and sharing his knowledge with others. His greatest joy in life was to raise his sons and realize their successes and accomplishments.

Andrew (Katy) Bors; three grandchildren, Ella Grace, Emerson Naomi and Bryan Zolton Bors; his sister, Ilona Bors Tylwalk; and his uncle, Clyde Schulte. Also surviving are many cousins and friends.
