David Kenneth “the Mutt” Mutton, age 71, of Lake Worth, FL, formerly of North Tonawanda, Monday, December 24, 2018 after a brief illness. Born December 25, 1946 in Buffalo, David was the son of the late Robert Mutton and Lorraine (nee Bonn) Mutton. A 1964 graduate of Tonawanda High School, where he was voted “Most Humorous”, he served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1969 in the United States and Germany, and then worked at the North Tonawanda Post Office for 38 years before retiring in 2008. After retiring he kept busy by working at Kohl’s, where he made many good friends and enjoyed volunteering for many community projects. David also enjoyed running (completing 5 marathons) as well as biking, gardening and golfing, and this motivated his move to Florida where he could enjoy these activities all year.
He was the loving father of Holly (Gregory Smith) Mutton, DO of East Amherst, NY and Thomas R. Mutton of Lake Worth, FL; brother of Robert (Vera) Mutton of Sun Prairie, WI; also surviving are Susan Witkopf (Lisa Benevento) Mutton, and his former sister-in-law Nancy Payne. He was the uncle of Joseph and Jason Matthews and Matthew and Elizabeth Mutton.
Service arrangements are incomplete at this time. Because of David’s love of dogs, memorials to Operation Pets, 3443 South Park Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14215 (www.operationpets.org) are preferred.
