It is with deep sadness that the family of Carol A. Copelin announce her passing on Sunday, August 18, 2019, following a period of failing health.
Carol was born in Buffalo, New York, the beloved daughter of William and Cecilia (nee Roos) Sellers. She graduated from Mount Saint Mary High School, Kenmore, NY and married Charles Gibson in 1960. The next years of her life were spent raising their five children. After Chuck’s death, Carol married Harry Copeland and lived the next part of her life spent by his side until his passing.
Carol enjoyed life, especially spending time with those she loved. She liked skiing and fishing, occasionally playing the slot machines, treasuring her pets, and cheering on the Bills. She had a wonderful sense of humor and delighted in stories about friends and family. She brightened the lives of many with her simple acts of kindness and generosity and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Carol is survived by five children, Kimberly Marone of Niagara Falls, NY, Janet (William) Kloss of Minot, ND, Tammy (Leo) Farley of Lancaster, NY, Brian Gibson of Olkahoma and Mark Gibson of Niagara Falls; a brother, Thomas E. Sellers of Webster, NY and a sister, Virginia (Gary) Dohse of Macedon, NY. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William (Jean) Sellers.
There is no visitation. A committal service will be held at St. Francis Chapel and Columbarium in Tonawanda at 1 PM on Monday, September 9. If desired, memorials to the S.P.C.A. are preferred by the family.
