Thaddeus "Tip" Piotrowski, age 73, of the Town of Tonawanda, died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at DeGraff Skilled Nursing Facility in North Tonawanda. Born April 7, 1944 in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Teddy and Irene (nee Gospodarowicz) Piotrowski and had been a Master Electrician at the General Motors Engine Plant in the Town of Tonawanda for 40 years before retiring in 2003. Tip was a devoted father and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman and hunter.
He was the husband for 53 years of June (nee Darnley) Piotrowski; father of Shari (Kyle) Schraufstetter and the late Laura Piotrowski; grandfather of Matthew, Derek and Cole; and brother of Mary Lou Suter, Kathy (Dennis) Weil and Steve (Barbara) Piotrowski. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Thursday only at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda, where a Vigil Service will be held at 8 PM Thursday; the Rev. James Kirkpatrick officiating. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, 2805 Wehrle Drive, Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221, are preferred by the family.
