"Pierre" Bertrand Ledoux, age 90, died Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Rosa Coplon Home at Weinberg Campus in Amherst after a long illness. Born May 23, 1927 in Worcester, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Zephir and Anastasie (nee Fontaine) Ledoux. As a young man, Pierre was a lumberjack in the Adirondack Forest and then operated a Barber Shop and Beauty Salon in Tonawanda. Later, he operated Figelow's Pizzeria in Batavia. Pierre studied art at Buffalo State College and some of his paintings were exhibited at the Weinberg Campus.
He is the father of Marian (Henry) Webb of Amherst, Andre Ledoux of Beckett, Massachusetts, Angel (Jonathan Starr) Davis of Framingham, Massachusetts, Lise Ledoux of Princeton, Massachusetts, Laura (Scott) Crowe of North Tonawanda, Amy Riggs of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Jean-Pierre (Diane) Ledoux of Silver Creek; and brother of Suzanne Labbe of Toronto, Ontario, Marielle Ledoux and Pauline Ledoux both of Drummandville, Quebec, and the late Camille, Roget, Leo, Andre, and Paulette Ledoux. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and his former wife, Suzanne (nee Heintz) Ledoux.
Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Thursday only at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Friday at St. Jude the Apostle R.C. Church, 800 Niagara Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda; the Rev. James Kirkpatrick officiating. Friends invited. Entombment will be cared for privately at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
