Linda (nee Gatas) Salhab, age 90, of North Tonawanda, died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at DeGraff Skilled Nursing after a long illness. Born February 20, 1926 in Sebhel, Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Khazoun (nee Rohena) Gatas and had been a resident of North Tonawanda for the greater part of her life.
She was the wife of the late Francis J. Salhab, who died June 29, 2012; mother of Olga (Mike) Gatas of the Town of Tonawanda, Joseph (Josephine) Salhab of Cheektowaga, Laurette (Lloyd) Irwin of Kenmore, Budwey F. Salhab of North Tonawanda, John (Lori Ann) Salhab of Pendleton, Jenny (Barrett) Price of Amherst, and Anthony (Maria) Salhab of Amherst; and sister of Peter (Antoinette) Gatas of North Tonawanda, Paul (Carmella) Gatas of Lockport, Evelyn Horvath of Buffalo, and Theresa Tederous of Las Vegas, Nevada. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Tuesday at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda, where prayers will be said at 8:30 AM Wednesday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 64 Center Avenue at Oliver Street, North Tonawanda; the Rev. Gary Szczepankiewicz officiating. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
