James H. Malinak, age 88, of Tonawanda, died Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the McAuley Residence in the Town of Tonawanda. Born August 23, 1929 in Duryea, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Susan (nee Medvitz) Malinak. He was a foreman at the G.M. Engine Plant in the Town of Tonawanda before retiring and a member of the United Auto Workers' Union.

He was the husband of the late Alfreda (nee Fonfara) Malinak, who died October 26, 1999; and cherished uncle of Karen (Dennis) Walden-Brown, Joseph Walden, Lola Coutino, John (Rachelle) Cybulski, and Kathy (Tom Dejac) Fonfara. Also surviving are many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 5-8 PM on Friday only at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Saturday at St. Francis Chapel, 71 Adam Street, Tonawanda; the Rev. Michael Uebler officiating. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to Hospice Buffalo, 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14227, are preferred by the family.
