Henry B. Czochara, age 91, of Williamsville, formerly of Tonawanda, died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the McAuley Residence in the Town of Tonawanda. Born May 16, 1925 in North Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Ludwig and Helen (nee Kosiba) Czochara, and was a Navy Veteran of WWII. Henry had been an Abrasive Tester at Exelon Co. in Tonawanda before retiring. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, the Gastown Sportsmen's Club and the American Legion, Brounshidle Post No. 205.
He was the husband of the late Dorothy (nee Rachow) Czochara, who died in 1987; father of Karen (the late Larry) Spenn of Pendleton, Susan (Ted) Arts of Amherst, Jeffrey (MaryLou) Czochara of Tonawanda, Gregory (Julie) Czochara of Gothensburg, Nebraska, and Allison (Dan) Hoadley of the Town of Tonawanda; grandfather of Amanda Hoadley and Michael Hoadley; brother of Madeline Dusenbury of North Tonawanda; and dear friend of Elizabeth Mary Rosina of Kenmore. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
There is no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Tuesday at St. Francis Chapel, 71 Adam Street, Tonawanda; the Rev. Michael Uebler officiating. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to a charity of your choice are preferred by the family.
