Diana (nee Mahoney) Sider, age 79, of Ambridge, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, December 2, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born February 23, 1938 in Tylersburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (nee McCloskey) Mahoney. She was raised in Tonawanda, where she spent the majority of her life, before moving to Ambridge in 1997. She was a member of Good Samaritan Parish in Ambridge and was a co-founder of Duke's Ice Cream Parlor on Merchant Street in Ambridge. Duke and Diana worked as a great team with wood-working; he created the treasures and she painted them, which was a lifelong passion of hers. Her husband, family and extended family were the the joy of her life.
She was the wife for 50 years of the late Raymond "Duke" Sider, who died July 18, 2010; mother of Sheila (Kevin) Hilliker of Ambridge, M. Maureen (Steven) Kuczma of Ambridge, and Raymond (Nadia) Sider III of Lakeport, California; sister of Lyn Copella of Amherst, Nancy Hefferon of Barker, and the late Myrna Mitchell, Robert "Mack" Mahoney, Francis "Rod" Mahoney, Joseph "Herk" Mahoney, and Barbara Ann Phelan; sister-in-law of the late Joan Boehm and Mary Ellen Marx; and grandmother of Kevin (Leslie) Hilliker, Nicole (John) Fink, Laura (Andrew) Yeager, Amanda (Patrick Schimoler) Hilliker, Katherine (Mark Schwarz) Kuczma, Grace Kuczma, Georgia Kuczma, Kristine Kuczma, Raymond Sider IV, and Zena Sider. Also surviving are 14 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Noah and Aaron Hilliker, John V, Quintin and Tyler Fink, Jaxon and Carson Yeager, Luca and Olivia Borriello, Wesley Schwarz, and Chase, Mia and Juliet Kuczma; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 5-8 PM on Wednesday at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda, where Funeral Services will be held at 9 AM Thursday. Friends invited. Interment at Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton.
